Tai chi Classes in Erith & in Swanscombe, Kent
Interested in having a go at Taichi for yourself in a relaxed, non-intimidating atmosphere?
I will be running 6 week introduction to Tai Chi courses at both KBT Martial Arts Academy situated at 365-369 Bexley Road, Erith, Kent DA8 3EZ and Swanscombe & Greenhithe Town Council Hall, Grove Road, Swanscombe, Kent.
Both halls have great facilities and are clean, light and airy. In fact, perfect for taichi!
What form do the classes take?
The classes will commence at 11am for two hours on Friday mornings at KBT Academy and at 7pm on Tuesday evenings at Swanscombe Town Council Hall with a break for refreshments and a chance to reflect on what you've learnt. How are the classes structured? After a brief, non-impact warmup, we'll begin to learn the movements of a simplified yang style form together. After our break, we will start to study the 'eight defence movements' which will give you the basics of keeping yourself safe from an attacker. At the end of the class I will teach you a form of Qigong which will leave you invigorated and refreshed!
What can I hope to gain from this 6 week course?
The study of Tai Chi will leave you more aware of your own body mechanics and how to move with grace and power plus you will learn about meditative breathing techniques. At the end of the course you will have covered all the movements of a simplified yang style Tai Chi form and, hopefully, you will have enjoyed yourself too!
Can I continue training after the initial 6 week course?
Those of you who wish to continue will be able to do so as further classes will be available.
What do I need to wear?
You will need comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and flat-soled kung-fu slippers or trainers.
What is the cost?
The cost for the course will be just £40 for all 6 weeks (payable in advance) or £8 per training session.
I'd like to come but I will be on holiday for a part of the course?
No problem. Any of the attendees who miss a week or two due to other commitments will be offered a 'catchup' lesson free of charge!
